How can we help?
Answers to common questions are below. Still stuck? Send us a message — there’s no public email to dig up, just the form.
Frequently asked
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Photalk analyzes your photos with an AI model that runs entirely on your device. Your images and the data Photalk derives from them are never uploaded to a server, and are never sent to us or anyone else.
How does search work without sending my photos anywhere?
When Photalk indexes your library, it converts each photo into a small mathematical representation (an “embedding”) on your device. Searching compares your words to those on-device embeddings. English searches work fully offline. Korean and Japanese searches send only the typed text (never any image) to a translation service to interpret your query.
Why do some photos look dimmed or don't appear in search yet?
Photalk analyzes your library in the background the first time, and whenever you add new photos. Dimmed thumbnails are still being processed. Keep the app open (and your device charging helps) until indexing finishes, then they’ll be fully searchable.
Can I control which photos Photalk can access?
Yes. On your device, open Settings → Photalk → Photos and choose Selected Photos to grant access to only the photos you pick, or Full Access for your whole library. You can change this any time.
How do I delete my account and data?
If you signed in, open Settings in the app and choose to delete your account. This removes your account and the minimal account data we hold. Photos and the on-device index live only on your device — deleting the app removes them.
Does Photalk cost anything?
Photalk is free to use and supported by ads shown between photos.
Which devices and languages are supported?
Photalk runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later, and the interface and search work in English, Korean, and Japanese.
